A new animated film by the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, as part of the multidisciplinary project “Respect the City,” showcases how to behave and conduct oneself in Dubrovnik.
World heritage sites offer invaluable insights into history, culture, and the natural beauty of a destination, often being the main reasons for visitors to come. However, we witness daily instances of irresponsible behaviour from visitors, leading to the cultural and ecological degradation of the city. For these reasons, an animated film has been created to visually and entertainingly demonstrate through concrete examples the behaviour that aligns with the rules of Dubrovnik, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Promoting Responsible Tourism and Preserving Cultural Heritage
Since the launch of the comprehensive “Respect the City” project in 2017 and the implementation of various measures and practices for sustainable and responsible management, Dubrovnik has quickly become a leader and advocate for sustainability in tourism. This animated film serves as a continuation of the communication activities conducted as part of this project. Additionally, the film includes the promotion of the Dubrovnik Pass as a new digital and unique ticket for a whole range of attractions in and around Dubrovnik, including the iconic Dubrovnik City Walls and the municipal institutions.
Animated Film Showcasing Behaviour Guidelines Now on Croatia Airlines Flights and Cruise Ships
The animated film, featuring the key rules of behaviour in Dubrovnik, is currently being shown on all Croatia Airlines flights on video screens, and this project started on the 15th of May 2023.
In collaboration with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), it will also be aired on cruise ships during their voyages that make stops in Dubrovnik. Furthermore, the animated film will be showcased through all communication channels of the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
