Jordi Savall & Hespèrion XXI
The varied and rich musical programme of the 75th Dubrovnik Summer Festival will be opened by one of the most versatile musical artists of his generation, legendary Jordi Savall and his early music ensemble Hespèrion XXI with a concert entitled Mare Nostrum: A Dialogue of Souls which will present the audience with an intercultural musical dialogue between Christian, Sephardic, Ottoman, and Arabic works – of Andalusian origin.

The Dubrovnik Summer Festival will participate in the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the inscription of the Old City of Dubrovnik on the UNESCO World Heritage List by staging the musical-theatre piece Hecuba, performed by the Dialogos ensemble, under the artistic direction of musicologist and vocalist Katarina Livljanić. The project is based on the texts of the Croatian (Dubrovnik) Renaissance writer Marin Držić and his Venetian contemporary and polymath Lodovico Dolce.
