The long history of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is strongly marked by the staging of Ivo Vojnović’s plays. It is precisely through the relationship to Vojnović that the connections to history and the potential of creative and contemporary expression to heritage is examined in the second premiere title of the 75th Festival – Ivo Vojnović’s Equinox, which will be headed by the Festival Drama Ensemble under the direction of Krešimir Dolenčić at Posat, the newest festival location. Establishing a balance between the melodramatic and the crude, the sentimental and the cynical, Equinox skilfully combines the past of individuals with the present of the collective, their memories with premonitions of the future.
